Emma Kelly – Neurodivergent-Affirming Counsellor in Bourne & Online
Hello, I’m Emma, an accredited counsellor in Bourne/Rippingale, offering face-to-face and online counselling for adults (18+) - I specialise in working with females. I provide a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space to explore anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship difficulties, disordered eating, and neurodivergent experiences.
Many clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, misunderstood, or disconnected from themselves. Others are navigating a recent or late diagnosis of ADHD, Autism or AuDHD, or exploring whether they may be neurodivergent. Therapy with me offers a calm, validating space to make sense of your experiences and reconnect with yourself.
Neurodiversity-affirming counselling (ADHD, Autism, AuDHD)
I specialise in neurodivergent-affirming counselling for adults, including ADHD counselling, autism counselling, and support for AuDHD. I have both lived and professional experience of neurodivergence and understand the emotional impact of masking, sensory overwhelm, shame, and burnout. Sessions are adapted to your sensory needs, processing style, and communication preferences.
Disordered eating, emotional eating & body image
I work extensively with disordered eating, emotional eating, body image concerns, and complex relationships with food and exercise. I am a Licensed Practitioner of the Understand Your Eating programme, a trauma-informed, compassionate approach that helps you understand why you eat the way you do — without restriction, shame, or diet culture.
I also offer therapeutic support alongside weight loss injections, focusing on healing your relationship with food and your body rather than reinforcing weight stigma.
Trauma, attachment & self-worth
I support clients with childhood trauma, relational trauma, attachment difficulties, people-pleasing, low self-worth, and self-abandonment in relationships. Many of my clients are parents, or considering becoming parents, who want to break cycles of generational trauma.
My counselling approach
I work relationally and collaboratively, bringing my authentic self into sessions. I don’t hide behind a professional mask or position myself as the expert on your life — you are. Clients often describe me as warm, approachable, and easy to talk to, and value having a space where they feel genuinely heard and accepted.
Lived experience
Alongside professional training, I bring lived experience of neurodivergence, disordered eating, trauma, and complex relational experiences, allowing me to work with empathy, sensitivity, and depth.
